Why do we do this?

We believe the poverty cycle can be broken through education.  With an education children can acquire a job to help provide for themselves and give back to the communities that helped them. We have seen this approach succeed and witnessed first hand how children are able to rise above their situations and be excellent members of their communities and even helping other children who are in situations similar to theirs.

Love-Share was birthed over a period of a year and a half of the Lord waking up our founder, Melinda Upchurch, in the middle of the night.  Some nights she was reminded of specific scripture or stories. Some nights she was simply awoken to pray. During this time, she began to journal Scriptures such as:

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
— James 1:22 ESV
for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
— Ephesians 5:8-10 ESV
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
— Psalm 19:14 ESV

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
— Romans 12:2 ESV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
— Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV
